End Consumers

Procedure for connection requests from end consumers for connection to the grid of Amprion GmbH

Amprion enables the grid connection of end consumers such as industries, data centres, electrolysers, etc. (hereinafter referred to as end consumers) to the transmission grid in accordance with the following transparent and non-discriminatory procedure.

Note:

In response to high demand for grid connection capacity in the Amprion grid zone, Amprion has optimised its grid connection process. This adaptation ensures an efficient grid connection procedure and enables more specific information to be provided on the immediate grid connection. A detailed description of the optimised grid connection process can be found in section 1 of the procedure description.

We are constantly working to optimize the grid connection process. Therefore, Amprion reserves the option to continue adjusting the grid connection process in the future in order to ensure non-discriminatory, appropriate and, as far as possible, timely grid connection for all customer groups. All current connection requests may be affected by such adjustments as long as no binding connection commitment has been issued by Amprion. This also applies if and to the extent that changes in laws or regulations, legally binding court decisions or final decisions by authorities, in particular the Bundesnetzagentur (Federal Network Agency), should conflict with the currently practised grid connection procedure in whole, in part, or require and/or permit such an adjustment.

handling competing connection requests

Competing grid connection request exist if qualified connection requests influence each other in terms of grid technology in such a way that not all connection requests can be granted. This might lead to higher connection cost for grid connection requests which have been recieved later than other connection request for the same connection point / substation.

In the case of competing connection requests, the so-called first-come, first-served principle applies. The first party to submit a qualified request is given priority. If the connection commitment of the initial grid connection applicant lapses, they can no longer claim priority over the competing connection request(s).

The provisions of Section 17(2a) EnWG, Section 8 EEG and Section 3 KWKG remain unaffected.
