Balancing Groups
Customers are supplied with electrical energy within balancing groups. A balancing group consists of power withdrawals and/or supplies. The balancing group supervisor is responsible for making sure that the power balance of the balancing group is in equilibrium in each 15-minute measuring period. The power balance represents total withdrawals, on the one hand, and total supplies, on the other hand.
Within the control area, Amprion balances the total net amount of the deviations of all balancing groups by dispatching control energy from contractually bound power plants (see information on control energy).
